Rare Photos Of 50s America Show How Different Life Was Back Then
Denis Fraevich is a New Yorker whose hobby it is to collect lovely photos from the 50s. He, like many others, hails the era as a time of great happiness and prosperity - even though there was always the threat of war, and racism hung like a dark cloud over everything.
Color photography was still relatively new then and all these photos in full color help capture the true essence of the era. Enjoy the ride into the past with these lovely photos.

This photo is both sad and beautiful. It is sad because it reminds you of when black people were segregated in many public spheres, and that included having a nice time at the movies.
But there is no denying the splendid dresses on these beautiful ladies and the sprawling street with the beautiful car makes you feel life was simpler then.
